Through the construction of an R&D center in Vietnam, Samsung Group wishes to elevate Vietnam “beyond the role of a global production base, becoming a strategic base of top priority in research and development. large scale”. Samsung’s R&D center in Vietnam was started in March 2020, located on an area of 11,603 m2, focusing on research on artificial intelligence (AI), connected things (IoT), data Big Data, 5G network with an average of 1,300 employees working every day. With a total investment of 220 million USD, this is also Samsung’s largest R&D center in Southeast Asia. Samsung R&D center is designed with 16 floors and 3 basements, total construction area is 11,603 m2, floor area is 79,511 m2.
Also at the inauguration event of Samsung’s R&D center, Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Samsung’s opening of the R&D center in Vietnam is a testament to the company’s orientation and commitment in the field of research and development. long-term operation in Vietnam. “Samsung is the largest Korean investor and also the largest foreign investor in Vietnam with a total registered investment capital of nearly 20 billion USD.
